When the IGS entered its 25th year the IGS News celebrated its 23rd birthday. This cd presents the entire volume of the IGS News which can also be referenced on the web and its purpose is to provide a history of the IGS. The IGS News archive can be accessed via the following link: IGS Newsletters. The first year, 1985, saw only one issue which was Vol 1 No 1 in June which was followed by the second issue in January 1986 (Vol 1 No 2) both being organized by the first editor Peter Jarrett. Kerry Rowe became the second editor with the June 1986 (Vol 2 No 1) edition and continued until the March 1990 issue (Vol 6 No 1.). Kerry was followed by Richard Bathurst who served from July 1990 (Vol 6 No 2) through July 1994 (Vol 10 No 2). Both Kerry and Richard went on to become the President of the IGS. David Elton became editor in November 1994 (Vol 10 No 3) and stayed on until July 1999 (Vol 15 No2 ) when Karina McInnis became editor with her first edition in November 1999 (Vol 15 No 3). Karina concluded her work in November 2007 (Vol 23 No 3) and the editorship passed to Gerhard Brãu in March 2008 issue (Vol 24 No 1).
